There has been a major development in the preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2025. The ABAP (Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad) has laid out rules for all the sadhus and babas participating in the 2025 Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. ABAP is the governing body of all the 13 Akharas. The sadhus and babas are followers of these akharas. All these babas must show their ID cards on the entry to the Kumbh Mela 2025. These could be Aadhar Cards or Voter ID cards. This is a step that will ensure that fake babas do not enter the Kumbh Mela grounds.
Another development is the renaming of Urdu words like Shahi or Peshwai. These words were generally used during Kumbh Mela and these words will now be renamed with Sanatani words. These are the new words that have deep roots in the Sanatan Dharma. Similarly, words like the ‘Royal Bath’ which refers to Shahi Snan of the Akharas, will also be changed.

Non-sanatanis, or those who do not follow the Sanatan Dharma, will not be allowed to set up food stalls during the Kumbh Mela 2025. This decision came after many incidents in the past where urine was found to be mixed with food or juice. Similarly, it was also found that people consumed food that was being spat on. These are unholy things that have prompted the ABAP members to pass this rule. Hindus hate such things and so only Hindus, who follow the Sanatan Dharma will be allowed to set up food stalls in the Kumbh Mela 2025.
A meeting was held at Prayagraj and was chaired by Mahant Ravindra Puri, who is the President of the Akhara Parishad. He stressed on the need to keep away the forces that dent the spirit of the Sanatan Dharma. Speaking at the meeting, he said that complete cooperation with the administration is needed to ensure the safety of all who participate in the 2025 Kumbh Mela. He also made it mandatory for all the sadhus to enter with a valid ID proof. He gave a list of all the sadhus to the concerned officials.
The Mahant spoke of the menace of the fake sadhus during the meeting. He cited a recent stampede that broke out during a ‘satsang’ of the self-styled sadhu called Suraj Pal in Hathras. The stampede claimed the lives of 121 people. Mahant Ravindra Puri said that such fake sadhus are a curse to the sacred Hindu dharma, and their acts tarnish the image of Hindu sadhus across the nation.
ABAP also made an appeal to all the devotees to buy goods from those shops that have the name of the owner written on them. For example, when devotees visit a restaurant or shop, they should verify that it has the images and idols of Hindu deities. The organization also stressed the ban on meat and liquor around the Kumbh Mela grounds.
