1.) Paush Poornima on February 13, 2025

2.) Achla Saptami on February 4, 2025

3.) Maghi Poornima on February 12, 2025

This again is the day of the Full Moon or Poornima, and it falls in the month of Magha according to the Hindu calendar. It is a highly auspicious date for ritual bathing, meditating, and chanting prayers. According to the Hindu religion, deities from the heavens assume human form and descend on the earth on this day.

4.) Maha Shivratri on February 26, 2025

This date is the night when the Kumbh Mela will end. This day of Maha Shivratri is the day when people fast, pray, and meditate. Maha Shivratri is called the Night of Shiva and it is a night when the divine energy of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti are at its most powerful.

The significance of Shahi Snan in Kumbh Mela 2025

Shahi Snan or the Royal Bath is the ritual bathing of the disciples of the 13 Akharas who will come from various parts of the country and gather at Prayagraj. They will bathe on a specific date and time at the sacred river confluence at Prayagraj and this is called the Shahi Snan. The disciples consist of sadhus, yogis, swamis, ascetics, and others who lead a huge procession and chant hymns, utter loud slogans, and ride on elephants and horses up to the snan bathing spots. Shahi Snah usually begins very early morning and lasts for the whole day. Shahi Snan is also called Rajyogi Snan and is considered to bring immortality.

New Developments for Kumbh Mela 2025

Many new developments are taking place as part of the preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2025. These developments include projects and construction that will take place in Prayagraj for the convenience of pilgrims.

• Corridors are being established at Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop, and Patalpuri
• Signages, landscaping, and entrance gates for promoting tourism
• Temples like Mankameshwar Temple, Nagvasuki Temple, Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, Pandila Mahadev Temple, Kalyani Devi Temple, and Alopshankari Devi Temple are being developed.
• Sacred places like Takshak Tirtha, Bharadwaj Ashram, and Dwadash Madhav temple are also being beautified and developed.
